A substitute teacher is a teacher who is asked to teach a class when the permanent teacher is absent or can’t come to the class. For example, the school finds out that tomorrow the math teacher will be absent and there won’t be anyone to attend the class and teach the students so the administration calls the substitute teacher and ask him or her to attend the class.
