Terminal operators are also known as the terminal managers and they are in charge or supervisor of the employees and other people in the terminal including the passengers, visitors, luggage, building, assets and cargo. It is the job of the terminal operator to make sure that the passengers’ board or get off the airplane safely and leave or enter the terminal building without any harm or complains.

Job Responsibilities and duties of Terminal Operator:

  • The key responsibility of a terminal operator is to make sure that every operation inside the terminal goes smoothly and there are no delays or unusual situations happening inside the terminals either it’s related to passengers or luggage.
  • Working with staff members and helping them or assisting them to understand what responsibilities they are supposed to provide in the terminal
  • Meeting with passengers and assisting them in any way they want
  • Making usual rounds inside the terminal to make sure everything is in order
  • Making sure there is nothing wrong with equipment or the appliances inside the terminal that could cause a damage or harm to passengers
  • Dealing with complains and angry passengers in case of an unusual incident and assisting them with whatever they want
  • Making sure there are no threats death related dangers from any aspect in the terminal

Salary of Terminal Operator:

It depends on the type of airport that how much a terminal operator can earn as big and international airports pay more money to their operators as compared to small or domestic airports in states and small countries. Usually American airports pay more money to the terminal operators as compared to Europe and Asia. Usually a terminal airport can earn up to $50000 per year and when they work on hourly basis, they can make around $20 per hour.
